Personally, I would steer clear of the cheaper paint lines. There is a reason that PPG charges huge bucks for their Brand name and then offer the bargain basement Shopline products.

For base coat and single stage products I order online from here: http://www.autorodtechnologies.com/chad ... -and-audio
The Motobase LV base coat sprays and covers fantastic.

For primers and clear coat you have a couple of choices: https://tamcopaint.com/
and https://www.southernpolyurethanes.com/

These are all quality products at very reasonable prices.

You need to look at ready to spray costs when wanting true cost of a product

:goodpost: Nailed it! What I've been saying for ages.

And then you have to look at how many coats you need to get coverage plus, for the pros, the labour cost of having the painter in the booth doing 3 coats with 10 minute flash offs versus 1.5 coats with only 5 minutes flash.

What Brand would this be?

I assume we are talking about Base coats here?

Axalta Cromax 6000. Low VOC solvent basecoat. This is top of the range in the Cromax lineup.

TDS is here

Note the application instructions on page 3:
On well prepared surface, apply 1 medium coat followed by a light coat with flash between coats of 1-2 min.
Do not cover in the 1st coat.
For transparent and very bright colours, apply 2 coats. Flash till flat between coats.

There is also the C600 line which is almost as good - needs 2 coats for coverage. TDS is here, scroll down to "C600".

Also, from the Usage Guides at the last link:
Cromax 6000

Note: 2.6 litres, RTS for a full respray of a large car.

Cromax 600

Note: 3.8 litres for full respray of large car.

There is also the 610 line, Economy Basecoat which is, roughly, the equivalent of the PPG Shopline. No printed Usage Guide for that, but using the same colour, a screenshot from my paint system shows 5.26 litres for a large car, full respray.

the example is basecoat, but the rule applies to anything mixed.
