Hmmm, looks good, but they always do.
The tests are whether it can be clear coated without losing the finish and how long it lasts. The starter kit works out at $10USD per square foot which doesn't seem so bad. Even converting to Australian flat rocks it's only $15/sq ft which has to be a reasonable product cost - something that you could sell for maybe $100, or more for small stuff. Bigger kits need a fairly substantial set up cost and then there's freight. Prep time would be the killer - need to get that surface really smooth. Did you notice in the guitar video how peely it was, even after all that sanding? There are only a handful of places here who do proper chrome plating and they're as dear as poison. You'd think that there would be a ready market amongst people doing restorations and those doing custom work - just in the automobile field. Sky's the limit for other stuff. Might be interested to hear Dave's comments comparing to the system he uses. Chris

I would steer clear of any system that goes over un sanded clear. The system i use is much more advanced than the one posted.

They make it look easy.
I might have to go that route soon. Figuring the square footage needed might be difficult as it looked like they hammered the stuff on there. 1968 Coronet R/T
