That car sure needs a lot of work. You are doing a great job with it.

Nice jog on that, you are bringing this one back from near dead. Worth it for a car like this though.

Thanks guys, yeah it sure does need a ton of work but I'm getting there slowly.

I had to redo the trunk channel, the narrow one holds the weatherstripping, the wider is the rain runoff.

Not the prettiest result, hard to grind welds in such a tight spot. I had to use a carbide burr so it looks a little chewy. A bit of filler smoothed it out.

Rob, I just read your whole project thread. You are doing great work. I appreciate the detailed pictures and explanations. I’m excited to see this finished.

Another small but time consuming job done. A bit of rot near the bottom of the left side dogleg and all of the part underneath. At least the rest of it was good unlike the disaster I had on the other side.

Next up will be the outer sill on this side. Hopefully I don't have to cut it up like the other side.

I know what you mean about not being done soon.

Today I went to install the door opening hardware into the passenger door. It should have been a thirty minute job but 3 1/2 hours later I got it done. LOL

Yeah I can't remember the last time I did anything without extra time consuming issues.

Speaking of that, I fit the outer sill. Took a fair bit of trimming just to get it in there and now I have a pretty bad fit to deal with.

The back of it isn't too bad but not good enough. The top of the sill sticks out a big 1/16 past the adjacent dog leg.

The front is way worse, sticks out close to 3/16 which is also pushing the fender out. The bottom gap isn't too bad but definitely bigger than the other side.

Need to think about it but pretty sure I'm going to have to cut it up.

Jeez, nothing is going to be easy for you on this one. All the aftermarket body parts I've used fit really bad, it seems to be built to look like the original and that's good enough.

I hear a lot about aftermarket parts fitting like crap. Rob you used a bunch of take off parts correct?

Yeah the repop fit is rarely good. This side outer sill is even worse than the other.

I have original replacement hood, trunk and one rear fender. The inner sill, both outer sills and floor pan are repops.
