That’s a neat option for sure! We have so much stuff against the wall in the shop I’m not sure we’d ever get it cleared off enough for putting it back against the wall but I can see a home shed or garage being ideal for that set up.

Here’s what I’m trying next. A 20X30 event tent that I just got set up today. Going to hang 10 8’ lights in it tomorrow and install exhaust and intake fans in it tomorrow with filters up off the ground. I can leave it up until I’m done painting for the winter which is nice and it comes with two bags to store everything in. I could have it put up in about 2-3 hours which isn’t too bad. Good thing with this is the polypropylene material is water resistant so I can wash it down between spraying colors and primers along with the floor to reduce dust. The inflatable I couldn’t do that with the permeable layer of fabric so it was always a dirty environment. Pretty excited to see how the next job goes with this set up.

Entertaining but everything in my garage would have to be removed like his was and for me that would mean a driveway full of stuff.

These cheap Amazon 8' LEDs are working out awesome. I actually bought two different sets at two different times and they connect together fine. OFB I got it on Amazon as well. It’s the QuicTent brand I believe it was just shy of $700 I think around $679 delivered to my door. Set up was fairly easy, it takes two people to put the roof piece on and of course to attach the legs but it was a single person job the rest of the way. Overall I’m pretty pleased with it. I cut my exhaust and intake fans in yesterday I can get some more pictures of how I did it if anyone’s interested.

Those lights are almost identical to the ones I got on Amazon as well. I have three of them in there now and the others I ordered were supposed to be here yesterday but got caught up in the snow storm set to arrive Friday now. That’s ok for this next job I’m doing I don’t need much more light anyway but I plan to hang the others when I get them around the sides of the tent.

I’m headed back to the shop now to prep some pieces for primer and possibly silver metallic base so we’ll see how it goes!

OFB, i'm looking for some LED's to replace my HO T-5s and some old school t 12s are these real bright do they put out a lot of light? also do you know the add says 100watts BUT it doesn't say if thats 100 w pre bulb or per fixture?

Jay I might be able to help you out with the lights. I’m not sure how many watts they are but I know they usually go by lumens on these LEDs. We have several in different places and they put out quite a bit of light. I’ll attach some pictures of them and what I’ve done in the booth so far today. I like I said I have some more lights coming so that can I have them on the side for vertical painting where the overheads just aren’t quite enough direct light.

I do wish I would have paid attention to the Kelvin rating because these are a little more ice blue in color and aren’t really like natural sunlight that is nice for painting. The blue color can give base coats a little different hue when they are on so sometimes I turn them off and check the color over to make sure it’s what I’m shooting for. Hope the pictures help.

You can convert your old fixtures to LED, as well. I did this to all my 8 footers in my shop (16 in all) I began when the ballast gave out. I'd change over to non-ballast LED bulbs, which were cheaper than buying a new HO ballast. I used Green Light bulbs, as they have lots of options, even for 8 footers. BTW, I found some of the cheaper Amazon 8 footers, would not last, or half the bulb would go out, so I stick with the slightly higher priced Green Lights.
