I used a Festool Rotex in RO mode to dry sand with a Sia velvet 3000 grit disc then a Festool Platin 4000 grit disc then a rotary with a white Wolfgang (LC) pad and Pinnacle XMT2

A corser grit of paper would help you with that orange peel. I use 1200 dry and then buff. Looks great!

Bling bling!

Was it necessary to sand it? Scratch removal?

That Frestool RO is expensive!!! Let me borrow yours. :)

ODG, I'm still waiting for that "video" you PROMISED to make.
Buffing out 600 grit? It's winter now so SHOW and TELL! :)

One of my "minor" goals for this year is to produce a FLAT mirror
like finish. I've got the swirly/holos removal down (it seems)...
A man can do all things if he but wills them.

Ha-Ha-Ha,,,I dont even have a video camera. But I do have a new digital Canon Rebel XTI. Ill take some pictures of the T/A whem Im done if you want to see them.

Whats this about "Buffing out 600 grit?"
The only time I use 600 is to remove trash in the clear and then I come back over that with 1200 dry D/A, then buff. Done!

Id say you are right the Old Dupont Guy. But I wasnt trying to remove Orange Peel......its a somewhat overkill approach I know but when I get these things straight off the boat from Japan they have that much crap on the paint that claybars last about one panel even the Claymagic Red arnt much good and there dear as....so the cheaper alternative is the mild sanding discs.....and its more fun anyway LOL
