Following up from their best-selling 2K primer Tamco offers what could possibly be the epoxy primer by which all others are judged. You get 2 sprayable gallons with this kit - a gallon of primer and a gallon of catalyst for a 1:1 mix.
Ask the epoxy you are using today if it can be shot over stainless steel, aluminum or galvanized steel without sanding. This epoxy uses the same resin that Boeing Aerospace uses on all of their aircraft. Do you think Boeing is abrading the entire plane to prep it for paint? Of course not...they trust the epoxy primer to do its job and adhere (given proper chemical prep of the aluminum aircraft body, of course).
Furthermore, this primer will not shrink or reveal sanding scratches later, like other epoxies. You won't get any "weirdness" like pinholes, texture that shows up a day later or other problems other epoxies suffer from. This epoxy is solid, consistent, easy to apply and sands like most 2k primers!
Comes in three colors: Buff (White), Grey or Black. Be sure to have a good quality wax & grease cleaner, since you want your metal surface to be absolutely clean before applying any epoxy.
A word about Tamco
It has been my pleasure to get to know Tamco. This is a family run business, with decades of experience. When you call you will most likely talk with the owner, Tammy Miller. She has literally grown up in the paint business. Tammy's father, Bob Barney has been in this business since 1979 and has manufactured and sold marine paints, industrial finishes and auto refinish paints. For years the family ran one of the largest PPG jobbers in the USA. Tammy's husband Sean Miller is the lead tech guy who also manages the production facility in Smithfield, Virginia. They take personal pride in their craft and you will not be disappointed by them or their high quality refinishing products.
